About GSA/WMTC
The General Services Administration (GSA) is an independent agency within the United States government. Its mission statement states that GSA’s role is to “help Federal agencies better serve the public by offering, at best value, superior workplaces, expert solutions, acquisition services, and management policies.”
The Washington Metropolitan Telework Centers (WMTC) are a collection of privately managed public workspaces. Originally intended for use by various agencies in the Federal government, they now welcome workers from the private sector as well. Each telework center is administered by a private company that contracts with GSA and maintains standards established by the agency.
